Regenerator recovers a third of its HP every time it switches out, adding real value on top of Toxapex's already solid stats. Poison/Water typing means only weak to Electric, Ground, and Psychic. Known as the Brutal Star Pokemon.

Defense leads and Speed gets almost nothing. That's Toxapex's stat line in a nutshell. 2 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Defense EVs.

Egg moves make a real difference. Toxapex gets Haze and Infestation exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Coverage across 8 types rounds out the picture alongside Gunk Shot and Hydro Pump.

or evolve from Mareanie (Step 1)
  • Regenerator changes the entire equation for Toxapex. The 495 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier.

  • Toxapex's biggest threats include Jolteon (Electric), Landorus (Ground), and Alakazam (Psychic), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. At base 35 Speed, Toxapex won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Mareanie evolves into Toxapex at level 38. Toxapex is the fully evolved form. At 495 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Regenerator is what you want on Toxapex. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Merciless, Limber) work on paper but Regenerator is what makes Toxapex worth using.

  • Base 35 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Toxapex is leaning toward the physical side (base 63 Attack). Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits.

  • Toxapex can be found in Scarlet & Violet, Sword & Shield, Sun & Moon, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Toxapex joined the series in Sun & Moon and has been available in 4 titles so far. With 3 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
