Regenerator recovers a third of its HP every time it switches out, adding real value on top of Toxapex's already solid stats. Poison/Water typing means only weak to Electric, Ground, and Psychic. Known as the Brutal Star Pokemon.
Defense leads and Speed gets almost nothing. That's Toxapex's stat line in a nutshell. 2 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Defense EVs.
To survive in the cold waters of Galar, this Pokémon forms a dome with its legs, enclosing its body so it can capture its own body heat.
Within the poison sac in its body is a poison so toxic that Pokémon as large as Wailord will still be suffering three days after it first takes effect.
Toxapex Weakness
GoodToxapex is weak to Electric, Ground, and Psychic-type moves. With 8 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Toxapex's overall bulk (50/152/142) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
Evolved from Mareanie. Toxapex is the final form in this two-stage line. Plenty of partners for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. Defense grew the most through evolution (+90 over Mareanie), and Toxapex peaks at 495 total stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Toxapex to get Mareanie eggs easily using 74 partners from the Water1 egg group. Notable egg moves include Haze, Infestation, Spit Up and 2 more.
Regenerator gives Toxapex passive value while it walls. Bold nature boosts Defense, max HP and Defense EVs maximize the physical wall profile, and Black Sludge keeps it in the game.

Egg moves make a real difference. Toxapex gets Haze and Infestation exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Coverage across 7 types rounds out the picture alongside Gunk Shot and Hydro Pump.

Regenerator changes the entire equation for Toxapex. The 495 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked A-Tier.
Mareanie evolves into Toxapex at level 38. Toxapex is the fully evolved form. At 495 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.
Regenerator is what you want on Toxapex. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Merciless, Limber) work on paper but Regenerator is what makes Toxapex worth using.
Base 35 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Toxapex is a special attacker with base 53 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits.
Toxapex can be found in Scarlet & Violet, Sword & Shield, Sun & Moon, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
Toxapex joined the series in Sun & Moon and has been available in 4 titles so far. With 3 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
