Sp. Atk leads and Speed gets almost nothing. That's Exeggutor's stat line in a nutshell. 4 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Tough to catch and yields 2 Sp. Atk EVs.
Alola is the best environment for this Pokémon. Local people take pride in its appearance, saying this is how Exeggutor ought to look.
As it grew taller and taller, it outgrew its reliance on psychic powers, while within it awakened the power of the sleeping dragon.
Exeggutor's Grass/Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Poison, Flying, Bug, Dragon, and Fairy. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses.

Getting Exeggutor requires an evolution item, not just grinding levels. The chain starts at Exeggcute. Breed this form to get Exeggcute eggs (average hatch time). Attack grew the most through evolution (+65 over Exeggcute), and Exeggutor peaks at 530 total stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Harvest isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Sitrus Berry for a one-time health recovery at low HP and spread EVs, Exeggutor fills the defensive wall slot reliably. Bold nature finishes the spread.

For Sun & Moon, we rate Exeggutor C-Tier: a niche pick in Sun & Moon's meta. At 530 BST, it fits the wallbreaker role. Leech Seed with Sitrus Berry is the standard set.
In Sun & Moon, watch for Cloyster (Ice), Nidoking (Poison), and Dodrio (Flying) when using Exeggutor. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Cloyster is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Bug, Dragon, and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Frisk reveals an opponent's held item upon entering battle. That's the one you want on Exeggutor. Harvest is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
Base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Exeggutor is a special attacker with base 125 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
For Sun & Moon, Exeggutor has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Physical attackers can break through.
Since debuting in Red & Blue, Exeggutor has appeared in 20 titles over 10 generations. Along the way, it received an Alolan form in Generation 7, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
