Delibird's Ice/Flying typing gives it an immunity to Ground. The 4 weaknesses are the tradeoff, but that immunity creates real opportunities. Can go either physical or special depending on the set. Been around since Gen 2.

Delibird's spread isn't flashy. Speed leads, HP trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 1 Speed EV, on a fast 800K XP curve.

Delibird Weakness

Vulnerable

Rock, Fire, Electric, and Steel-type moves hit Delibird for super-effective damage. Rock hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all.

Delibird leads with Focus Sash insurance. Even if it can't take a hit naturally, it'll survive long enough to deal early damage. Max Attack and Speed EVs go all-in on offense since bulk doesn't matter here.

Best Delibird Moveset

  • Destiny Bond
  • Ice ShardSTAB
  • Quick Attack
  • Fake Out

Don't skip the egg moves. Delibird picks up Aurora Beam and Bestow only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Blizzard and Fly while Normal and Fighting coverage and more adds range.

  • Delibird has a 330 base stat total and ranks as D-Tier — outclassed by better options in most formats. It works best as a balanced.

  • Watch for Golem (Rock), Arcanine (Fire), and Jolteon (Electric) when using Delibird. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Golem is the most dangerous since Rock moves deal 4x damage. Steel-type attackers are also a problem.

  • Delibird doesn't evolve and has no evolutionary line. It's a Ice/Flying-type Pokemon with a 330 base stat total.

  • Vital Spirit prevents sleep — that's the one you want on Delibird. Insomnia is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Hustle works too if your team needs something different.

  • Delibird fills the balanced role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 65 Sp. Atk). Base 75 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.

  • Delibird appears in 18 games, including Gold & Silver, Crystal, and Ruby & Sapphire.

Delibird first appeared in Gold & Silver and has been available in 18 games across 8 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
