How to Get Chansey in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
Happiny doesn't appear in the wild, so the 3-stage path to Chansey starts at the nursery. Catch Chansey first, breed for Happiny, then evolve through the chain.
Where To Catch Chansey in BDSP
The path to Chansey starts with Happiny at Lv. 16-20 via walking encounters. 1 catchable stage total, with locations listed for each one below.
Chansey Weakness
Fighting moves hit Chansey for super-effective damage. The upside? Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. Chansey's special bulk (base 105 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Chansey Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Guide
At 450 BST, Chansey is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Blissey before bringing it to any serious fight.
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Chansey. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. Chansey has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Chansey gets Natural Cure, Serene Grace, and Healer. But Natural Cure is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. Natural Cure synergizes with Chansey's base 105 Sp.Def, letting it soak special attacks as a pivot.
Chansey is a physical attacker with base 5 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the wall role.
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, For a casual playthrough, Chansey works as a placeholder. Normal coverage is useful early. The real payoff is Blissey. That's where the stats start mattering.
