While most trainers evolve Chansey into Blissey immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. Ghost moves can't touch it, and only a single type hits it super-effectively. Known as the Egg Pokemon.
The stat line revolves around HP. Percentage recovery gets extra mileage here. Sp. Def backs it up, though Attack doesn't pull its weight. Worth 2 HP EVs on a fast 800K XP curve to max out.
It is said to deliver happiness. Being compassionate, it shares its eggs with injured people.
It lays several eggs a day. The eggs are apparently rich in nutrients and extremely delicious.
Chansey Weakness
GoodFighting-type moves hit Chansey for super-effective damage. The upside? Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. Chansey's special bulk (base 105 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
Chansey connects Happiny to Blissey in this chain. At least one evolution here needs a special method. So far, HP got the biggest boost (+150 from Happiny). The final form adds another 90 stats on top.
How to Evolve
Breed with Chansey to get Happiny eggs (with patience) from the Fairy egg group. Notable egg moves include Aromatherapy, Counter, Endure and 9 more.
Natural Cure gives Chansey passive value while it walls. Bold nature boosts Defense, max HP and Defense EVs maximize the physical wall profile, and Eviolite keeps it in the game.

No wild encounters for Chansey in X & Y. Bring Happiny over from Diamond, Platinum, or Ultra Sun, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.
At 450 BST, Chansey is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Blissey before bringing it to any serious fight.
Watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Chansey. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. Chansey has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Chansey gets Natural Cure, Serene Grace, and Healer. But Natural Cure is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. Natural Cure synergizes with Chansey's base 105 Sp.Def, letting it soak special attacks as a pivot.
Chansey is leaning toward the special side (base 35 Sp. Atk). Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the wall role.
