Blastoise Evolutions
Blastoise is the final form in a three-stage chain from Squirtle through Wartortle. Breeding this form produces Squirtle eggs (average hatch time). Evolving from Squirtle gave Blastoise the biggest boost in Sp.Def (+41), bringing the total to 530 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Blastoise to get Squirtle eggs easily using 63 partners from the Monster and Water1 egg groups. Notable egg moves include Aqua Jet, Aqua Ring, Aura Sphere and 9 more.
BDSP Blastoise Best Moveset
Dropped from A-tier since the original Gen 4 as better hazard removal options passed it by. Hidden AbilityRain Dish adds passive rain healing the moveset didn't have before, and 100 Defense with 105 Sp. Def still absorbs hits. B-tier because the utility is real even if the era of being the premier MoveRapid Spin user ended.

Moves List
Don't skip the egg moves. Blastoise picks up Aqua Jet and Aqua Ring only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Water Spout and Hydro Cannon while coverage across 9 types adds range.

Blastoise Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Guide
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Blastoise has a 530 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl's meta. It works best as a balanced. Ice Beam with Leftovers is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, but Blastoise does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Blastoise hits 630 BST.
Torrent strengthens water moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. That's the one you want on Blastoise. Rain Dish is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Blastoise fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker with base 83 Attack and 85 Sp. Atk. Base 78 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's tanky enough to absorb a few hits.
Game Availability
Blastoise first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 21 games across 10 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 6 and a Gigantamax form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
