While most trainers evolve Arctibax into Baxcalibur immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind. Relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up. Known as the Ice Fin Pokemon.

Attack and HP carry most of Arctibax's stat budget. Sp. Atk's the obvious dump stat. Very hard to catch and yields 2 Attack EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.

Arctibax freezes the air around it, protecting its face with an ice mask and turning its dorsal fin into a blade of ice.

Scarlet

It attacks with the blade of its frozen dorsal fin by doing a front flip in the air. Arctibax’s strong back and legs allow it to pull off this technique.

Partway through Frigibax's chain. Arctibax still has another evolution ahead before reaching Baxcalibur. For breeding, takes forever to hatch with plenty of partners via two egg groups. So far, HP got the biggest boost (+25 from Frigibax). The final form adds another 177 stats on top.

Outrage is the main STAB option after a Swords Dance boost. Eviolite gives Arctibax a bulk boost that only works before full evolution to survive the setup turn, and max HP and Attack EVs make the boosted hits count. The remaining moves catches resists.

How to Obtain Arctibax in Scarlet & Violet

  1. Frigibax
    Step 1Obtain Frigibax
  2. Arctibax
    Step 2Arctibax
  • Arctibax is meant to evolve into Baxcalibur. At 423 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.

  • Watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting), Tyranitar (Rock), and Garchomp (Dragon) when using Arctibax. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Steel and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Frigibax evolves into Arctibax at level 35. Arctibax evolves into Baxcalibur at level 54. Arctibax is a middle-stage evolution in the Frigibax line.

  • Thermal Exchange raises Attack when hit by a Fire-type move — that's the one you want on Arctibax. Ice Body is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • At base 62 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Arctibax is a physical attacker with base 95 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Arctibax can be found in Legends: Z-A and Scarlet & Violet.

Arctibax joined the series in Scarlet & Violet and has been available in 2 titles so far. With 1 generation of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
