Stats & Training
Sigilyph's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, Attack trails, 4 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 2 Sp. Atk EVs, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Psychic power allows these Pokémon to fly. Some say they were the guardians of an ancient city. Others say they were the guardians’ emissaries.
A discovery was made in the desert where Sigilyph fly. The ruins of what may have been an ancient city were found beneath the sands.
Sigilyph Weakness
Electric, Ice, Rock, Ghost, and Dark moves hit Sigilyph for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all.

Sun & Moon Evolution
No evolution chain to worry about here. Sigilyph is a standalone Pokemon with plenty of partners for breeding through one egg group. Eggs come out average hatch time. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed Sigilyph easily with 58 breeding partners from the Flying egg group. Pass egg moves like Ancient Power, Future Sight, Psycho Shift and 4 more to offspring.
Sun & Moon Sigilyph Best Moveset
This is a pure walling set. Flame Orb provides self-burn for Guts activation so Sigilyph sticks around, and the Calm nature reinforces special wall. Roost handles sustain while Magic Guard does work passively.

Moves
Don't skip the egg moves. Sigilyph picks up Ancient Power and Future Sight only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Sky Attack and Synchronoise while coverage across 9 types adds range.

Sigilyph Guide
In Sun & Moon, Don't let Sigilyph's 490 base stat total fool you. Magic Guard is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as an attacker. Roost with Flame Orb is the standard set.
In Sun & Moon, Run Magic Guard on Sigilyph. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Sigilyph also gets Wonder Skin and Tinted Lens, but they don't compare.
In Sun & Moon, Sigilyph fills the attacker role. It's a special attacker with base 103 Sp. Atk. Base 97 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Sun & Moon, run Roost, Storedpower, Psychoshift, and Cosmicpower on Sigilyph. Roost is the most common pick at 20% usage. This set covers the attacker role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
Introduced in Black & White, Sigilyph has appeared in 7 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
