Pelipper Weakness

Pelipper's Water/Flying typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric and Rock. Electric hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Ground-type attacks completely. It resists 5 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Pelipper's physical bulk (base 100 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Black & White Pelipper Best Moveset

The physical wall spread is where Pelipper earns its spot. Leftovers for passive recovery each turn, Bold nature for the right lean, and Roost handles sustain. Raindish does the rest without needing a move slot.

Moves

The natural movepool does the job, but Agility and Aqua Ring from the egg pool give Pelipper something extra. Pair those with Hydro Pump and Hurricane for STAB and coverage across 9 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

Pelipper Guide

  • In Black & White, watch for Jolteon (Electric) and Golem (Rock) when using Pelipper. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Jolteon is the most dangerous since Electric moves deal 4x damage. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In Black & White, Wingull evolves into Pelipper at level 25. Pelipper is the fully evolved form. It sits at 440 BST in its evolved form.

  • For Black & White, it depends on your team. Pelipper at 440 BST isn't a powerhouse, but the Water/Flying coverage might be exactly what you're missing.

  • In Black & White, Don't let Pelipper's 440 base stat total fool you. Drizzle is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier. Hurricane with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Black & White, Run Drizzle on Pelipper. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Pelipper also gets Keen Eye and Rain Dish, but they don't compare.

Game Availability

Pelipper first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and has been available in 16 games across 8 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
