Mismagius Weakness

Ghost and Dark moves hit Mismagius for super-effective damage. The upside? Normal and Fighting-type moves can't touch it at all. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Mismagius's special bulk (base 105 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Sun & Moon Mismagius Best Moveset

Mismagius leads with Focus Sash insurance. Even if it can't take a hit naturally, it'll survive long enough to deal early damage. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs go all-in on offense since bulk doesn't matter here.

How to Get Mismagius in Sun & Moon

Mismagius is a gift in this game. Pick it up at Poké Pelago — no wild encounters or spawn rates to deal with. The details below cover exactly when it becomes available.

How to Obtain Mismagius in Sun & Moon

To get Mismagius, start by catching Misdreavus through walking and gift encounters at Lv. 7-55. The chain covers 2 catchable stages before reaching the final form.

Mismagius Guide

  • In Sun & Moon, Don't let Mismagius's 495 base stat total fool you. Levitate is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a sweeper. Shadow Ball with Focus Sash is the standard set.

  • In Sun & Moon, watch for Gengar (Ghost) and Absol (Dark) when using Mismagius. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In Sun & Moon, Run Levitate on Mismagius. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. With base 105 Speed, Levitate gives Mismagius an edge before opponents can react.

  • In Sun & Moon, Mismagius fills the sweeper role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 105 Sp. Atk). Base 105 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Sun & Moon, run Shadow Ball, Skillswap, Dazzling Gleam, and Taunt on Mismagius. Shadow Ball is the most common pick at 25% usage. This set covers the sweeper role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Mismagius has been available in 12 games since Diamond & Pearl, though obtaining it requires an item-based evolution. This extra step makes it less common than Pokemon found through standard wild encounters.
