Mawile Weakness
Mawile's Steel/Fairy typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire and Ground. It shrugs off Poison and Dragon-type attacks completely. 9 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Mawile's physical bulk (base 85 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

SM Mawile Best Moveset
Mega Mawile fires AbilityHuge Power-doubled Attack from 105 base to 210 effective, the highest effective Attack stat in the format. Steel/Fairy typing resists nine types. MoveSucker Punch adds Dark priority. The moveset has the highest Attack in the game but 50 Speed fires last and 50/125/95 Mega bulk limits how many hits it takes.

Moves List
Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Mawile won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 11 types means it always has an effective option. Play Rough and Iron Head anchor the STAB core.

Mawile Sun & Moon Guide
In Sun & Moon, Don't let Mawile's 380 base stat total fool you. Intimidate is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier. Ironhead with Life Orb is the standard set.
In Sun & Moon, yes. Mega Mawile hits 480 BST, a solid jump from the base 380. Hold the Mega Stone, trigger it in battle, and it lasts the whole fight. One Mega per team.
In Sun & Moon, Run Intimidate on Mawile. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Mawile also gets Hyper Cutter and Sheer Force, but they don't compare.
In Sun & Moon, Mawile fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 85 Attack. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
Game Availability
Mawile first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and spans 15 games across 8 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 6, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
