Lapras Weakness
Lapras's Water/Ice typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Rock. Water Absorb grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Lapras's overall bulk (130/80/95) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Lapras Evolutions
No evolution chain to worry about here. Lapras is a standalone Pokemon with plenty of partners for breeding through two egg groups. Eggs come out takes forever to hatch. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed Lapras easily with 79 breeding partners from the Monster and Water1 egg groups. Pass egg moves like Ancient Power, Avalanche, Curse and 11 more to offspring.
USUM Lapras Best Moveset
130 HP with 80/95 defenses gives Lapras real bulk, and Water/Ice TermStab covers Ground, Dragon, Flying, and Grass. But 60 Speed acts last against everything relevant. AbilityWater Absorb heals from Water attacks. The moveset absorbs hits and retaliates but D-tier Speed prevents any offensive momentum.

Lapras best EVs are Sp. Atk and HP

Moves List
You'll want to breed for Ancient Power and Avalanche on Lapras. These egg moves aren't just nice to have. Combined with STAB from Hydro Pump and Blizzard, they expand what Lapras can actually threaten in practice.

It likes swimming around with people on its back. In the Alola region, it’s an important means of transportation over water.
They’ve been so cherished that there’s now an overabundance. The fish Pokémon population has declined in waters with too many Lapras.
Lapras Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Guide
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Lapras looks average on paper at 535 BST. But Water Absorb is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list. Freezedry with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, watch for Raikou (Electric), Venusaur (Grass), and Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Lapras. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Rock-type attackers are also a problem. Lapras has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Lapras gets Water Absorb, Shell Armor, and Hydration. But Water Absorb is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Lapras is a mixed attacker with base 85 Attack and 85 Sp. Atk. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, run Freezedry, Surf, Hydro Pump, and Ice Beam on Lapras. Freezedry is the most common pick at 0% usage. Surf provides reliable STAB damage.
