Stats & Training
Sp. Def leads and Defense gets almost nothing. That's Goodra's stat line in a nutshell. 5 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Tough to catch and yields 3 Sp. Def EVs.
An amazingly friendly Pokémon, but if left to itself, loneliness overcomes it, and it oozes gooey tears.
It gets picked on because it’s meek. But then, whoever teased it gets to feel the full force of its horns and a good swatting from its thick tail.
Goodra Weakness
Type-wise, Goodra takes extra damage from Ice, Dragon, and Fairy. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Sap Sipper grants an additional Grass immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Goodra's special bulk (base 150 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Goodra Guide
In Sun & Moon, Sap Sipper changes the entire equation for Goodra. The 600 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as a tank. Ice Beam with Assault Vest is the standard set.
Sap Sipper is what you want on Goodra. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Hydration, Gooey) work on paper but Sap Sipper is what makes Goodra worth using.
Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Goodra is a special attacker with base 110 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a tank.
For Sun & Moon, the core moveset is Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, and Sludgewave. Ice Beam leads at 15% usage. This set covers the tank role with a mix of damage and utility.
