Goodra brings raw power that's hard to match. Dragon typing and needs some investment to avoid getting outsped — it checks a lot of boxes at once. Only weak to Ice, Dragon, and Fairy. Introduced in Gen 6.

Sp. Def leads and Defense gets almost nothing. That's Goodra's stat line in a nutshell. 5 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Tough to catch and yields 3 Sp. Def EVs.

It’s very friendly toward people. If you grow close to it, Goodra will hug you with its sticky, slime-covered body. Don’t get mad.

Ultra Sun

Underneath its slimy skin is a thick layer of fat, and the combination of the two makes enemies’ attacks slide right off.

Goodra Weakness

Avg

Type-wise, Goodra takes extra damage from Ice, Dragon, and Fairy. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Sap Sipper grants an additional Grass immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Goodra's special bulk (base 150 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

End of the line. Goodra caps a three-stage chain that started at Goomy. Breeding produces the base form, and eggs are takes forever to hatch. Sp.Def grew the most through evolution (+75 over Goomy), and Goodra peaks at 600 total stats.

This build takes hits and hits back. Assault Vest provides a special bulk boost with no status moves allowed, Sapsipper supports the gameplan, and a spread EV build EVs mean Goodra doesn't crumble to chip damage. Plus Electric and Fire coverage backing it up.

Hard to wall, honestly. Goodra threatens 13 types beyond its own STAB, with Grass and Water standing out. Pair that with Draco Meteor and Outrage and switchins need to think twice.

Goodra doesn't appear wild. Catch Goomy instead, it shows up at moderate rates. Evolve it at level 50 to get Goodra. The 3-stage chain is mapped in the step cards below.

How to Obtain Goodra in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon

To get Goodra, start by catching Goomy through walking encounters at Lv. 19-45. The chain covers 2 catchable stages before reaching the final form.

    Step 3Goodra
  • Sap Sipper changes the entire equation for Goodra. The 600 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked A-Tier as a tank.

  • Goodra's biggest threats include Cloyster (Ice), Salamence (Dragon), and Clefable (Fairy), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Goodra has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.

  • Sliggoo evolves into Goodra at level 50. Goodra is the final evolution in a 5-stage line starting from Goomy. With 600 BST, it's a powerhouse in its final form.

  • Sap Sipper is what you want on Goodra. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Hydration, Gooey) work on paper but Sap Sipper is what makes Goodra worth using.

  • Base 80 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Goodra is a mixed attacker — base 100 Attack and 110 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a tank.

  • Goodra appears in 8 games, including X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Since debuting in X & Y, Goodra has appeared in 8 titles over 4 generations. Along the way, it received a Hisuian form in Generation 8, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
