While most trainers evolve Sliggoo into Goodra immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. Only weak to Ice, Dragon, and Fairy. Can go either physical or special depending on the set. Been around since Gen 6.
Sliggoo's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Def leads, Defense trails, 2 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 2 Sp. Def EVs, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
It has trouble drawing a line between friends and food. It will calmly try to melt and eat even those it gets along well with.
This Pokémon’s mucous can dissolve anything. Toothless, it sprays mucous on its prey. Once they’re nicely dissolved, it slurps them up.
Sliggoo Weakness
AvgIce, Dragon, and Fairy-type moves hit Sliggoo for super-effective damage. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Sap Sipper grants an additional Grass immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Sliggoo's special bulk (base 113 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
Sliggoo is the middle stage between Goomy and Goodra. It's a three-stage line with one more evolution to go. For breeding, takes forever to hatch with no compatible partners via one egg group. So far, Sp.Def got the biggest boost (+38 from Goomy). The final form adds another 148 stats on top.
How to Evolve
Breed with Sliggoo to get Goomy eggs from the Dragon egg group. Notable egg moves include Acid Armor, Counter, Curse and 3 more.

Don't skip the egg moves. Sliggoo picks up Acid Armor and Counter only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Draco Meteor and Dragon Pulse while coverage across 10 types adds range.

Sliggoo isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Goodra to unlock its full potential. At 452 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Run Sap Sipper on Sliggoo. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Sliggoo also gets Hydration and Gooey, but they don't compare.
Sliggoo fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker — base 75 Attack and 83 Sp. Atk. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Sliggoo appears in 8 games, including X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
Sliggoo first appeared in X & Y and spans 8 games across 4 generations. It later gained a Hisuian form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
