Everything pushes toward mixed damage here. Dragapult's Speed does the work, Defense pays the price. But you're still getting 3 Speed EVs per KO. Tough to catch, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Dragapult can make its whole body transparent by clearing its mind and focusing. Even the Dreepy in Dragapult’s horns become invisible.
The fastest Dragapult of the group is always surrounded by Dreepy that want to fly at sonic speed.
Dragapult's Dragon/Ghost typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy. It shrugs off Normal and Fighting-type attacks completely. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Poison, Bug |

Cyclizar can KO Dragapult with Draco Meteor (98-115%). Magmortar's Psychic hits Dragapult for 38-45%. Pelipper deals 58-68% with Hurricane.

The three-stage chain from Dreepy through Drakloak ends here at Dragapult. Want more? Breed for Dreepy eggs. Plenty of partners available via two egg groups. The evolution from Dreepy pushed Dragapult to 600 total stats. HP saw the largest single gain at +60. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Prediction matters here. Choice Specs means Dragapult can't change moves after clicking, but the payoff is boosted special damage with move lock. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs with Infiltrator back that up. The remaining moves prevents free switches.

Moves
The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Dragapult's coverage across 9 types all comes from technical machines, built on top of Draco Meteor and Outrage for same-type damage. Phantom Force and Take Down are the payoff moves.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Dragapult won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 10 types means it always has an effective option. Outrage and Dragon Rush anchor the STAB core.
Can't catch Dragapult directly. Start with Dreepy at moderate rates from the locations below, then evolve at level 60. The 3-stage chain from Dreepy to Dragapult is where the leveling time goes.

Step 3Dragapult ✓
Dragapult works as a sweeper with 600 BST behind it. A-Tier on our list: a strong competitive pick. That 142 base Speed does the heavy lifting.
Clear Body prevents stats from being lowered by other Pokémon. That's the one you want on Dragapult. Cursed Body is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Infiltrator works too if your team needs something different.
Dragapult is a physical attacker with base 120 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 142 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
Dragapult has answers, but so do you. Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.
Since Sword & Shield, Dragapult has been obtainable in 2 games. A Generation 8 debut means a shorter history, but Dragapult has appeared steadily across every generation since.
