Dewott sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Oshawott but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Samurott as fast as possible. Only weak to Electric and Grass. Known as the Discipline Pokemon.
An unusually even spread gives Dewott flexibility. Sp. Atk barely edges ahead. But Defense isn't far off. Tough to catch and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve. Yields 2 Sp. Atk EVs.
Its exquisite double-scalchop technique is likely the result of daily training, and it can send even masters of the blade fleeing in defeat.
Dewott Weakness
GoodType-wise, Dewott takes extra damage from Electric and Grass. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Just 2 weak spots to worry about, which keeps teambuilding straightforward.
Partway through Oshawott's chain. Dewott still has another evolution ahead before reaching Samurott. For breeding, average hatch time with a massive partner pool via one egg group. HP has grown the most so far (+20), but there's still another 115 stats to gain in the final evolution.
How to Evolve
Eviolite makes Dewott bulkier than you'd expect from something that still evolves. HP-heavy investment EVs with Impish nature handle the stat profile. Utility options keeps it from being passive.

TMs carry this one. Dewott learns Hydro Pump and Aqua Tail naturally for STAB, but the offensive range comes almost entirely from technical machines. Normal and Bug and beyond give it real matchup play.

A solid spread overall. Dewott gets Hydro Pump and Aqua Tail for same-type damage alongside Normal and Flying coverage and more. It won't blow anyone away, but it doesn't leave you stuck either.
Breeding's the move. Air Slash and Assurance give Dewott options it can't learn any other way, and coverage across 9 types already covers a decent range on top of Hydro Pump and Aqua Tail. The egg moves push it further.
