The general strategy to tracer is fairly simple, however, It can be easily countered by the right Tracer Hero Counters. Tracer Counters mainly consist of Stun or high damage AOE Abilities. When playing Tracer, do your best to avoid fighting your opponents head on. Tracer can only deal good damage when close enough to her enemies, as opposed to other Offensive heroes like Soldier: 76, and she lacks Health Points. Take advantage of her speed to travel rapidly through side routes and flank spots so that you can get behind your opponents before attacking. Try to find alone single targets that are separated from the rest of their team and attack them. Team fights are one of tracers biggest weaknesses since she lacks almost any long AOE aside from her Ultimate ability.

- McCree: While in principle Tracer can avoid McCree Flash Bang, the AoE is forgiving to the point that more often than not in the event that you are close enough to get hit, you will get hit. It’s a given, if Tracer get hit by his flashbang she is dead for sure. McCree is among the best Tracer Counters.
- Winston: When She blows E its all a matter of jumping on her and staying as mobile as she does. Since winston has some fo best mobility for a tank hero. if tracer is focusing someone else other than you playing winston, its very easy to track her down for the kill. Easily one of the safest Tracer Counters to play.
- Roadhog: Whilst it is troublesome for Roadhog to catch Tracer because of her High Mobility, this isn’t a battle Tracer can win. Roadhog essentially has a lot of Health Points for Tracer to tear through, and he can even Heal up even further if needed. All it takes is for Roadhog to land one hook and tracer is good as dead, making him a strong tracer hero counter.
