Venusaur Evolutions
Venusaur is the final form in a three-stage chain from Bulbasaur through Ivysaur. Breeding this form produces Bulbasaur eggs (average hatch time). Evolving from Bulbasaur gave Venusaur the biggest boost in HP (+35), bringing the total to 525 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Venusaur to get Bulbasaur eggs easily using 35 partners from the Plant and Monster egg groups. Notable egg moves include Charm, Curse, Grass Whistle and 5 more.
FRLG Venusaur Best Moveset
100 Sp. Atk fires Grass TermStab from the right side since all Grass moves use the Special stat. AbilityOvergrow pushes that damage harder at low HP. MoveSleep Powder creates free turns the moveset depends on, though Poison coverage hits from the weaker 82 Attack because Poison is physical.

Venusaur FireRed & LeafGreen Guide
Bulbasaur is the easiest starter for FireRed & LeafGreen if you want a Grass/Poison Pokemon on your team. Bulbasaur trivializes the first two gyms. Vine Whip walks through Brock and Misty. Sleep Powder is a free win-button vs tough trainers, and Razor Leaf carries the Surge and Erika stretch. Sabrina is the worst matchup, so switch to a teammate. Koga and Blaine are manageable with Solar Beam in sun. Razor Leaf hits Lorelei's Cloyster hard, and Earthquake (Giovanni TM) covers Lance's Charizard.
Game Availability
Venusaur first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 21 games across 10 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 6 and a Gigantamax form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
