Almost nobody uses Shuppet in battle. It exists to evolve into Banette, which is a completely different story. Get it there and you won't regret it. Normal and Fighting moves can't touch it, and only 2 types hit it super-effectively. Known as the Puppet Pokemon.

Nothing fancy in Shuppet's spread. It leans mixed with Attack out front. And you'll get 1 Attack EV per KO for it. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.

SHUPPET is attracted by feelings of jealousy and vindictiveness. If someone develops strong feelings of vengeance, this POKéMON will appear in a swarm and line up beneath the eaves of that person’s home.

Ruby

SHUPPET grows by feeding on dark emotions, such as vengefulness and envy, in the hearts of people. It roams through cities in search of grudges that taint people.

Sapphire

Shuppet Weakness

Excellent

Ghost and Dark-type moves hit Shuppet for super-effective damage. The upside? Normal and Fighting-type moves can't touch it at all.

Don't skip the egg moves. Shuppet picks up Astonish and Destiny Bond only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Shadow Ball and Astonish while Dark and Normal coverage and more adds range.

  • At 295 BST, Shuppet is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Banette before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Watch for Misdreavus (Ghost) and Tyranitar (Dark) when using Shuppet. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Shuppet evolves into Banette at level 37. Shuppet is the base form of this evolutionary line.

  • Insomnia prevents sleep — that's the one you want on Shuppet. Cursed Body is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Frisk works too if your team needs something different.

  • Shuppet is a physical attacker with base 75 Attack. Fragile — can't afford to take many hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

  • Shuppet appears in 15 games, including Ruby & Sapphire, FireRed & LeafGreen, and Emerald.

Debuting in Ruby & Sapphire, Shuppet appears in 15 games across 7 generations. A reliable presence in most mainline games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
