If Absol goes down before it attacks, it contributed nothing. If it doesn't, something on the other side is going down. It needs some investment to avoid getting outsped. Known as the Disaster Pokemon. Part of the Gen 3 roster.
Everything pushes toward physical damage here. Absol's Attack does the work, Defense pays the price. But you're still getting 2 Attack EVs per KO. Tough to catch, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Every time ABSOL appears before people, it is followed by a disaster such as an earthquake or a tidal wave. As a result, it came to be known as the disaster POKéMON.
ABSOL has the ability to foretell the coming of natural disasters. It lives in a harsh, rugged mountain environment. This POKéMON very rarely ventures down from the mountains.
Absol Weakness
GoodAbsol's Dark typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting and Bug moves. It shrugs off Psychic-type attacks completely. Absol's Dark typing only leaves 2 gaps to cover.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
What you see is what you get. Absol sits outside any evolution chain, so focus on the egg moves and a massive partner pool from one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time.
How to Evolve
Breed Absol easily with 102 breeding partners from the Ground egg group. Pass egg moves like Baton Pass, Curse, Double-Edge and 3 more to offspring.
The game plan is straightforward: click Swords Dance, then sweep. Leftovers and Pressure support the setup turn. EVs go into max Attack and Speed so Absol hits hard once it's boosted.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Absol won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 10 types means it always has an effective option. Bite and Thief anchor the STAB core.

Absol works as a cannon with 465 BST behind it. C-Tier on our list — a situational pick that fills a niche. That 130 base Attack does the heavy lifting.
Absol doesn't evolve and has no evolutionary line. It's a Dark-type Pokemon with a 465 base stat total.
Pressure increases the PP cost of moves targetting the Pokémon by one — that's the one you want on Absol. Justified is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Super Luck works too if your team needs something different.
Absol is a special attacker with base 75 Sp. Atk. But the speed tells the real story — base 75 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. Fits the cannon role.
Absol appears in 15 games, including Ruby & Sapphire, FireRed & LeafGreen, and Emerald.
Available since Ruby & Sapphire, Absol appears in 15 games spanning 7 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Mega form in Generation 7.
