Stats & Training
Seadra's built around special offense. Defense leads the charge, Sp. Def pays for it. Moderately hard to find, worth 2 Defense and Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Its body bristles with sharp spikes. Carelessly trying to touch it could cause fainting from the spikes.
It is capable of swimming backwards by rapidly flapping its winglike pectoral fins and stout tail.
Seadra Weakness
Electric and Grass moves hit Seadra for super-effective damage. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Seadra's physical bulk (base 95 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

X & Y Evolution
Seadra is partway through a three-stage line between Horsea and Kingdra. The chain involves a trade, so it's not a straightforward grind. So far, HP got the biggest boost (+25 from Horsea). The final form adds another 100 stats on top. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.

Seadra Guide
In X & Y, Seadra isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Kingdra to unlock its full potential. At 440 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Poison Point has a 30% chance of poisoning attacking Pokémon on contact. That's the one you want on Seadra. Damp is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Sniper works too if your team needs something different.
In X & Y, Seadra fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 95 Sp. Atk. Base 85 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many.
Game Availability
Seadra has been part of the series since Red & Blue, appearing in 20 titles across all 10 generations. As a Gen 1 original, it's one of the most consistently available Pokemon in the franchise.
