Under Trick Room, Quagsire's terrible Speed becomes its best asset — it 'outspeeds' nearly everything when turns are reversed. Electric moves can't touch it, and only a single type hits it super-effectively. Can go either physical or special depending on the set.
Quagsire's spread favors physical bulk over offense. HP leads the defensive side, Speed eats the cost. Yields 2 HP EVs per defeat. Medium-fast 1M XP curve to level.
Its body is always slimy. It often bangs its head on the river bottom as it swims but seems not to care.
Quagsire Weakness
GoodQuagsire's Water/Ground typing leaves it vulnerable to Grass moves. Grass hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Electric-type attacks completely. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. With 95 HP and balanced defenses, Quagsire can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def
Quagsire is the evolved form of Wooper. Breeding produces Wooper eggs, and they're average hatch time. Evolving from Wooper gave Quagsire the biggest boost in HP (+40), bringing the total to 430 stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Quagsire to get Wooper eggs easily using 66 partners from the Ground and Water1 egg groups. Notable egg moves include Ancient Power, Body Slam, Safeguard.
Leftovers and an ability form the backbone. Quagsire invests flexible EVs EVs to play its attacker role properly, and a nature nature pushes higher. Earthquake handles the heavy lifting on offense. The remaining moves rounds it out.

Don't let Quagsire's 430 base stat total fool you. Unaware is what makes it tick — it punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a trick room.
Watch for Exeggutor (Grass) when using Quagsire. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Exeggutor is the most dangerous since Grass moves deal 4x damage. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 35 Speed, Quagsire won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Quagsire fills the trick room role. It's a mixed attacker — base 85 Attack and 65 Sp. Atk. Base 35 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
