This Pokémon lives and nests on a riverbank. After playing in the mud, it won’t be able to settle down unless it washes its body.
It is far stronger than it appears. If a Phanpy is swinging its trunk around and your arm gets hit by it, your arm bone will shatter.

Get Phanpy to Donphan at level 25. At 330 BST, Phanpy is just the starting point.
Level 25 gets you Donphan. Not the fastest evolution, so consider Exp. Share or route grinding to speed it up.
In Scarlet & Violet, Phanpy does the job early-game if you need a Ground type on your team. Evolve it into Donphan before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
