While most trainers evolve Phanpy into Donphan immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. Electric moves can't touch it, and only 3 types hit it super-effectively. Been around since Gen 2.
Phanpy's spread isn't flashy. HP leads, Sp. Atk trails, 1 stats clear the bar. Common in the wild and worth 1 HP EV, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
As a sign of affection, it bumps with its snout. However, it is so strong, it may send you flying.
It is strong despite its compact size. It can easily pick up and carry an adult human on its back.
Phanpy Weakness
AvgPhanpy's Ground typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Grass, and Ice moves. It shrugs off Electric-type attacks completely. 3 weaknesses is about average, nothing too hard to play around.
Phanpy evolves into Donphan. It's a two-stage chain with the method shown below. No compatible partners for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolved forms gain up to 170 total stats over Phanpy.
How to Evolve
Breed Phanpy easily from the Ground egg group. Pass egg moves like Ancient Power, Body Slam, Counter and 9 more to offspring.
