Mareep Guide

  • Flaaffy at level 15 is the mid-stage. Push through to Ampharos at level 30 for the final form. 280 BST right now won't cut it long-term.

  • Level 15 gets you Flaaffy. Quick enough that Mareep barely slows you down.

  • In Gold & Silver, For a casual playthrough, Mareep works as a placeholder. Electric coverage is useful early. The real payoff is Flaaffy. That's where the stats start mattering.

  • You can find Mareep in Gold & Silver. The Locations section has the full breakdown of routes and encounter details. It also appears in 16 other games across the series.

Game Availability

Debuting in Gold & Silver, Mareep appears in 17 games across 9 generations. A reliable presence in most mainline games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
