Flaaffy sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Mareep but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Ampharos as fast as possible. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets. Been around since Gen 2.
Flaaffy's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, Speed trails, 1 stats clear the bar. Common in the wild and worth 2 Sp. Atk EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
As a result of storing too much electricity, it developed patches where even downy wool won’t grow.
Its fluffy fleece easily stores electricity. Its rubbery hide keeps it from being electrocuted.
Flaaffy Weakness
GoodFlaaffy is weak to Ground-type moves. Its Electric typing keeps the defensive matchups simple. Only 1 weakness makes it relatively easy to build around defensively.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def
Flaaffy is the middle stage between Mareep and Ampharos. It's a three-stage line with one more evolution to go. For breeding, average hatch time with plenty of partners via two egg groups. HP has grown the most so far (+15), but there's still another 145 stats to gain in the final evolution.
How to Evolve

Flaaffy isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Ampharos to unlock its full potential. At 365 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Flaaffy's biggest threats include Golem (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Flaaffy fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 55 Attack. Base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
