Gen IV — Diamond, Pearl & PlatinumC

Better Electric-types pushed it down in Gen IV (Diamond & Pearl). Jolteon was faster, Magnezone trapped Steels, Rotom had more utility. Manectric sat in between.

Manectric Guide

  • Intimidate changes the entire equation for Manectric. The 575 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as a sweeper.

  • Manectric can Mega Evolve into Mega Manectric. That's 675 BST, up from 575. The stat redistribution often changes its best role. Mega Stone required, one per battle.

  • Manectric's biggest threats include Rhydon (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Intimidate is what you want on Manectric. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. With base 135 Speed, Intimidate gives Manectric an edge before opponents can react.

  • Base 135 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Manectric is a special attacker with base 135 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a sweeper.

Game Availability

Since debuting in Ruby & Sapphire, Manectric has appeared in 15 titles over 8 generations. Along the way, it received a Mega form in Generation 6, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
