Manectric Best Moveset
Held ItemManectite activates AbilityIntimidate dropping opposing Attack on entry, and 135 Sp. Atk at 135 Speed fires Electric TermStab on fast cooldowns with elite power. The moveset combines offensive speed with a passive that weakens physical attackers whenever Mega activates.
Pure Electric with 105 Sp. Atk and 105 Speed in Gen III (Ruby & Sapphire). Static paralyzed on contact, and Manectric was a solid mid-tier Electric attacker.

Better Electric-types pushed it down in Gen IV (Diamond & Pearl). Jolteon was faster, Magnezone trapped Steels, Rotom had more utility. Manectric sat in between.
Special Sweeper Moveset
- Thunder
- Charge Beam
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power Grass
Recommended Teammates
Lightningrod gave it an Electric immunity and Sp. Atk boost in Gen V (Black & White). Niche partner utility, but not enough to climb in singles.
Special Sweeper Moveset
- Thunder
- Overheat
- Signal Beam
- Volt Switch
Recommended Teammates
Mega Manectric with Intimidate was excellent in Gen VI (X & Y). Pivot in, drop Attack, Volt Switch out. But base Manectric without the Stone was mediocre.
Special Sweeper Moveset
- Volt Switch
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
Recommended Teammates
Mega Manectric was still good in Gen VII (Sun & Moon). Base form continued its decline without access to the Mega boost.
Special Revenge Killer Moveset
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Ice
- Flamethrower
Recommended Teammates
No Mega form in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield). 105/105 offenses couldn't separate Manectric from the crowd of better Electric-types.

- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Switcheroo
- Overheat

Manectric Weakness
Type-wise, Manectric takes extra damage from Ground. Few weaknesses and 3 resistances make the typing clean. With 70 HP and balanced defenses, Manectric can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Base Stats
The stat budget goes to damage. Sp. Atk and Speed carry the offense, HP doesn't even come close. A Discharge Pokemon on a slow 1.25M XP grind, worth 2 Speed EVs per KO.
It discharges electricity from its mane. The Pokémon creates a thundercloud overhead from which to drop lightning bolts.
Manectric Guide
Intimidate changes the entire equation for Manectric. The 575 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as a sweeper.
Manectric can Mega Evolve into Mega Manectric. That's 675 BST, up from 575. The stat redistribution often changes its best role. Mega Stone required, one per battle.
Manectric's biggest threats include Rhydon (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Intimidate is what you want on Manectric. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. With base 135 Speed, Intimidate gives Manectric an edge before opponents can react.
Base 135 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Manectric is a special attacker with base 135 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a sweeper.
Game Availability
