Lunatone Guide

  • In Diamond & Pearl, watch for Starmie (Water), Breloom (Grass), and Golem (Ground) when using Lunatone. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Bug, Ghost, Dark, and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • For Diamond & Pearl, it depends on your team. Lunatone at 440 BST isn't a powerhouse, but the Rock/Psychic coverage might be exactly what you're missing.

  • In Diamond & Pearl, Levitate changes the entire equation for Lunatone. The 440 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier. Ice Beam with Nothing is the standard set.

  • Levitate is what you want on Lunatone. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind.

  • Lunatone's best stat is Sp. Atk at base 95. Rock/Psychic typing resists 5 types, so it can switch in safely on a lot of moves.

Game Availability

Available in 14 titles since its debut in Ruby & Sapphire, Lunatone spans 8 generations of Pokemon games. It's accessible through wild encounters in a solid number of games.
