Without Levitate, Lunatone wouldn't see any competitive play. With it? It gives it a Ground immunity, turning modest base stats into a real offensive threat. Rock/Psychic is solid coverage on top of that. Needs some investment to avoid getting outsped.
Sp. Atk and HP carry most of Lunatone's stat budget. Attack's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.
It becomes active on nights with a full moon, so it is said to have some link to the lunar phases.
Lunatone Weakness
FragileWater, Grass, Ground, Bug, Ghost, Dark, and Steel-type moves hit Lunatone for super-effective damage. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.
Lunatone is what you get. No evolutions, but it breeds through one egg group with no compatible partners. Hatching is average hatch time.
