Without Levitate, Lunatone wouldn't see any competitive play. With it? It gives it a Ground immunity, turning modest base stats into a real offensive threat. Rock/Psychic is solid coverage on top of that. Needs some investment to avoid getting outsped.
Sp. Atk and HP carry most of Lunatone's stat budget. Attack's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.
It becomes very active on the night of a full moon. This POKéMON was first discovered 40 years ago at the site of a meteor strike.
Lunatone Weakness
FragileWater, Grass, Ground, Bug, Ghost, Dark, and Steel-type moves hit Lunatone for super-effective damage. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
Lunatone is what you get. No evolutions, but it breeds through one egg group with a decent partner pool. Hatching is average hatch time.
How to Evolve
Breed Lunatone (with patience) with 23 breeding partners from the Mineral egg group.
The build revolves around Baton Pass for safe pivoting. Levitate and Leftovers support Lunatone's hit-and-run approach, with max HP and Defense EVs making sure each pivot actually threatens. Utility options adds versatility.
