Electric and Psychic moves don't affect Krookodile at all — that's the advantage of Ground/Dark typing. Intimidate lowers the opponent's Attack on switch-in. Known as the Intimidation Pokemon. Introduced in Gen 5.

Attack and HP carry most of Krookodile's stat budget. Sp. Atk's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 3 Attack EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Krookodile can't be caught in Legends: Z-A. Transfer Sandile from Black, Black 2, or Sword and evolve through the 3-stage chain to get it. The step cards below map the full chain.

How to Obtain Krookodile in Legends: Z-A

  3. Krookodile

  • Intimidate changes the entire equation for Krookodile. The 519 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked A-Tier as a wallbreaker.

  • Watch for Starmie (Water), Breloom (Grass), and Lapras (Ice) when using Krookodile. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Fighting, Bug, and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Krokorok evolves into Krookodile at level 40. Krookodile is the final evolution in a 3-stage line starting from Sandile. At 519 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Intimidate is what you want on Krookodile. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Moxie, Anger Point) work on paper but Intimidate is what makes Krookodile worth using.

  • Base 92 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Krookodile is a physical attacker with base 117 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.

  • Krookodile appears in 9 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.

Krookodile joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 9 titles so far. With 5 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
