Exeggcute sits at the start of its evolution line — not yet at full power, but that changes fast. Most trainers push through to Exeggutor as fast as possible. Watch the Bug matchup though — quadruple damage means one hit can end it. Known as the Egg Pokemon.

Exeggcute's spread isn't flashy. Defense leads, Attack trails, 1 stats clear the bar. Moderately hard to find and worth 1 Defense EV, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.

Exeggcute Weakness

Fragile

Type-wise, Exeggcute takes extra damage from Bug, Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Ghost, and Dark. Watch out for Bug attacks, those deal 4x damage. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Exeggcute's physical bulk (base 80 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Breeding's the move. Ancient Power and Block give Exeggcute options it can't learn any other way, and Normal and Poison coverage and more already covers a decent range on top of Leaf Storm and Solar Beam. The egg moves push it further.

Tutor Moves

Exeggcute can't learn any Tutor moves

No wild encounters for Exeggcute in Scarlet & Violet. It's available in Red, Yellow, or Gold and can be transferred over. The details below show where to find it.

Exeggcute is not available as a wild encounter in this game.

Also found in:

  • Exeggcute isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Exeggutor to unlock its full potential. At 325 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • Exeggcute's biggest threats include Scyther (Bug), Charizard (Fire), and Cloyster (Ice), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Scyther is the most dangerous since Bug moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Flying, Ghost, and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 40 Speed, Exeggcute won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Exeggcute can evolve into Exeggutor and Alolan Exeggutor depending on the method. Exeggcute is the base form in a 3-stage evolutionary line.

  • Run Chlorophyll on Exeggcute. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Exeggcute also gets Harvest, but they don't compare.

  • Exeggcute fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 60 Sp. Atk. Base 40 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

  • Exeggcute appears in 20 games, including Yellow, Red & Blue, and Gold & Silver.

Exeggcute has been part of the series since Red & Blue, appearing in 20 titles across all 9 generations. As a Gen 1 original, it's one of the most consistently available Pokemon in the franchise.
