Type-wise, Exeggcute takes extra damage from Bug, Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Ghost, and Dark. Watch out for Bug attacks, those deal 4x damage. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Exeggcute's physical bulk (base 80 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Exeggcute has 2 evolution paths: Exeggutor using a Leaf Stone and Alolan Exeggutor using a Leaf Stone. Different conditions, different results.
In Scarlet & Violet, Exeggcute does the job early-game if you need a Grass/Psychic type on your team. Evolve it into Exeggutor before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
