Eelektrik's spread isn't flashy. Attack leads, Speed trails, 1 stats clear the bar. Moderately hard to find and worth 2 Attack EVs, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
They coil around foes and shock them with electricity-generating organs that seem simply to be circular patterns.
These Pokémon have a big appetite. When they spot their prey, they attack it and paralyze it with electricity.
Eelektrik's Electric typing leaves it vulnerable to Ground. Its Electric typing keeps the defensive matchups simple. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.

Eelektrik is partway through a three-stage line between Tynamo and Eelektross. The chain involves an evolution item, so it's not a straightforward grind. So far, HP got the biggest boost (+30 from Tynamo). The final form adds another 110 stats on top. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Eviolite turns Eelektrik into a wall that rivals fully evolved options. Levitate and Sassy nature stack with max HP and Sp. Def EVs to create a surprisingly tough defensive core.

Moves
Without TMs, Eelektrik's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get coverage across 7 types on top of Zap Cannon and Thunder for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

Eelektrik develops a solid moveset just through leveling. Take Down and Thunderbolt show up naturally, and the progression handles both STAB and utility without leaning on TMs for the core attacks.

Step 2Eelektrik ✓
Eelektrik isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Eelektross to unlock its full potential. At 405 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Watch for Garchomp (Ground) when using Eelektrik. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 40 Speed, Eelektrik won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Tynamo evolves into Eelektrik at level 39. Eelektrik evolves into Eelektross using a Thunder Stone. Eelektrik is a middle-stage evolution in the Tynamo line.
Run Levitate on Eelektrik. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche.
Eelektrik fills the trick room role. It's a mixed attacker with base 85 Attack and 75 Sp. Atk. Base 40 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Introduced in Black & White, Eelektrik has appeared in 9 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
