A versatile performer skilled in the imitation of human speech. It is said that older, more experienced Chatot can even understand the meaning of the words they mimic.

Legends: Arceus

Electric, Ice, and Rock moves hit Chatot for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground and Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. Chatot leans toward special offense (base 92 Sp.Atk) instead of trying to wall anything.

Chatot's options are limited here. You've got Hurricane and Air Slash for STAB damage, but there isn't much beyond Normal and Flying hitting power. TMs help fill gaps, though the kit stays tight.

  • Watch for Raikou (Electric), Walrein (Ice), and Rhyperior (Rock) when using Chatot. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • It depends on your team. Chatot at 411 BST isn't a powerhouse, but the Normal/Flying coverage might be exactly what you're missing.

  • Chatot has a 411 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a situational pick that fills a niche. It works best as a balanced.

  • Keen Eye prevents accuracy from being lowered. That's the one you want on Chatot. Big Pecks is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Tangled Feet works too if your team needs something different.

  • Normal/Flying typing gives Chatot 4 resistances plus Ground and Ghost immunity. Base 92 Sp. Atk is the standout stat. 411 BST gives it a workable foundation.

Chatot first appeared in Diamond & Pearl and has been available in 11 games across 7 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
