Ampharos Legends: Z-A Guide
In Legends: Z-A, Mold Breaker changes the entire equation for Ampharos. The 610 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as a wallbreaker. Thunderbolt with Leftovers is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Legends: Z-A, but Ampharos does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Ampharos hits 710 BST.
Mold Breaker is what you want on Ampharos. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. On wall sets, Mold Breaker pairs with Ampharos's base 105 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.
Base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Ampharos is a special attacker with base 165 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wallbreaker.
Game Availability
Since debuting in Gold & Silver, Ampharos has appeared in 17 titles over 9 generations. Along the way, it received a Mega form in Generation 6, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
