Evolution
Partway through Tepig's chain. Pignite still has another evolution ahead before reaching Emboar. For breeding, average hatch time with a massive partner pool via one egg group. So far, Attack got the biggest boost (+30 from Tepig). The final form adds another 110 stats on top. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.

Breed with Pignite to get Tepig eggs using 278 partners from the Ground egg group.
How to Get Pignite
Can't catch Pignite directly. Start with Tepig at moderate rates from the locations below, then evolve at level 36. The 3-stage chain from Tepig to Pignite is where the leveling time goes.
No wild encounters for Pignite. The 3-stage chain runs through Tepig, which you can catch at moderate rates from the locations below. Evolve at level 36 once you've got the levels.
Pignite can't be caught in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Transfer Tepig from Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, or Legends: Z-A and evolve through the 3-stage chain to get it. The step cards below map the full chain.

You're catching Tepig first, not Pignite. Tepig appears in the wild in the encounters below. The step cards map the full 3-stage chain with evolution methods between each stage.
Base Stats
Attack and HP carry most of Pignite's stat budget. Defense's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Attack EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
When its internal fire flares up, its movements grow sharper and faster. When in trouble, it emits smoke.
Pignite Guide
Pignite is meant to evolve into Emboar. At 418 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Watch for Milotic (Water), Swampert (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Pignite. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic-type attackers are also a problem.
Thick Fat is what you want on Pignite. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Blaze) work on paper but Thick Fat is what makes Pignite worth using.
Pignite's hidden ability is Thick Fat. Halves damage from fire and ice moves. Better than the standard options for competitive play.
At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Pignite is a physical attacker with base 93 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
Pignite joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 8 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
