On paper, Chimecho looks underwhelming. In practice, Levitate gives it a Ground immunity — and that's the whole story. Psychic typing means only weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Known as the Wind Chime Pokemon. Its damage comes from the special side.
Sp. Atk and Sp. Def carry most of Chimecho's stat budget. Attack's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Sp. Atk and Sp. Def EVs. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.
Can emit waves of air powerful enough to knock out prey taller than itself. I hypothesize that it amplifies the faint sound of wind within its body.
Chimecho Weakness
VulnerableType-wise, Chimecho takes extra damage from Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. With 75 HP and balanced defenses, Chimecho can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
Evolved from Chingling. Chimecho is the final form in this two-stage line. Plenty of partners for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. Sp.Def grew the most through evolution (+40 over Chingling), and Chimecho peaks at 455 total stats.
How to Evolve
Levitate gives Chimecho passive value while it walls. Calm nature boosts Sp. Def, max HP and Sp. Def EVs maximize the special wall profile, and Leftovers keeps it in the game.

TMs carry this one. Chimecho learns Future Sight and Psychic naturally for STAB, but the offensive range comes almost entirely from technical machines. Ghost and Normal and beyond give it real matchup play.

Stall teams hate this. Chimecho can spread damage across 10 types, with Normal and Fairy punishing common defensive pivots. STAB from Future Sight and Psychic keeps the pressure honest on everything else.
A solid spread overall. Chimecho gets Psychic and Extrasensory for same-type damage alongside Normal and Ghost coverage and more. It won't blow anyone away, but it doesn't leave you stuck either.
Breeding's the move. Cosmic Power and Curse give Chimecho options it can't learn any other way, and Ghost and Normal coverage and more already covers a decent range on top of Future Sight and Dream Eater. The egg moves push it further.
Chimecho isn't available in the wild in Scarlet & Violet. Start by transferring Chingling from Diamond, Platinum, or HeartGold. The evolution path from Chingling to Chimecho is covered in the steps below.

Levitate changes the entire equation for Chimecho. The 455 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier.
Chimecho's biggest threats include Heracross (Bug), Misdreavus (Ghost), and Tyranitar (Dark), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.
Chingling evolves into Chimecho by leveling up. Chimecho is the fully evolved form. It sits at 455 BST in its evolved form.
Levitate is what you want on Chimecho. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind.
At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Chimecho is leaning toward the special side (base 95 Sp. Atk). Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
