As a Water-type, Wailord fills a straightforward role. Only weak to Electric and Grass. Known as the Float Whale Pokémon. A competitive option since Gen 3. Relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up.
Wailord's spread is anchored by HP, with balanced defenses backing it up. Defense is the clear weak point. Worth 2 HP EVs per KO, and the standard growth curve keeps leveling painless.
They eat so many fish Pokémon that when Wailord become too numerous, fishermen have to chase them off.
When a small Wailmer is attacked by Sharpedo or Dhelmise, its whole pod works together to protect it.
