On paper, Tatsugiri looks underwhelming. In practice, Storm Drain redirects Water moves and boosts its Sp. Atk — and that's the whole story. Dragon/Water typing means only weak to Dragon and Fairy. Known as the Mimicry Pokemon.
Tatsugiri's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, Attack trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Moderately hard to find and worth 2 Sp. Atk EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Bird Pokémon are its main prey. This Pokémon knows it’s weak, so it hunts with a partner.
It’s one of the most intelligent dragon Pokémon. It camouflages itself by inflating its throat sac.
Tatsugiri Weakness
GoodType-wise, Tatsugiri takes extra damage from Dragon and Fairy. Its Dragon/Water typing keeps the defensive matchups simple. Storm Drain grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Tatsugiri's special bulk (base 95 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
Breeding is the whole story for Tatsugiri. No compatible partners through one egg group, eggs are slow to hatch, and you won't need to evolve anything.
How to Evolve
Breed Tatsugiri from the Water2 egg group.
Water coverage is what separates a good sweep from a wasted boost. After Nasty Plot, Tatsugiri threatens a wide range with max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs and Heavy-Duty Boots backing every hit.
