While most trainers evolve Snover into Abomasnow immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. Watch the Fire matchup though — quadruple damage means one hit can end it. Known as the Frost Tree Pokemon.
Snover's stats barely vary. 0 sit in respectable range with no real gaps. It's a blank slate for EV investment. Worth 1 Attack EV, slow 1.25M XP grind to max.
During cold seasons, it migrates to the mountain’s lower reaches. It returns to the snow-covered summit in the spring.
Seemingly curious about people, they gather around footsteps they find on snowy mountains.
Snover Weakness
FragileSnover's Grass/Ice typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Fighting, Poison, Flying, Bug, Rock, and Steel moves. Fire hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage.
Snover evolves into Abomasnow. It's a two-stage chain with the method shown below. Plenty of partners for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolved forms gain up to 160 total stats over Snover.
How to Evolve
Icyrock and Snow Warning form the backbone. Snover invests a spread EV build EVs to play its attacker role properly, and Hasty nature pushes Speed higher. Blizzard handles the heavy lifting on offense. The remaining moves rounds it out.

Without TMs, Snover's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get Normal and Water coverage on top of Leaf Storm and Wood Hammer for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

Snover's Grass and Ice typing gives it plenty of same-type firepower. Wood Hammer and Blizzard lead a deep STAB lineup, so you can pick the right tool per matchup. Beyond STAB, Steel and Ghost coverage rounds out the rest.
You'll want to breed for Double-Edge and Growth on Snover. These egg moves aren't just nice to have. Combined with STAB from Wood Hammer and Solar Beam, they expand what Snover can actually threaten in practice.

Watch for Infernape (Fire), Lucario (Fighting), and Gengar (Poison) when using Snover. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Infernape is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Flying, Bug, Rock, and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 40 Speed, Snover won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Snover evolves into Abomasnow at level 40. Snover is the base form of this evolutionary line.
Run Snow Warning on Snover. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Snover also gets Soundproof, but they don't compare.
Snover fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 62 Sp. Atk. Base 40 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
