While most trainers evolve Silicobra into Sandaconda immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. Electric moves can't touch it, and only 3 types hit it super-effectively. Known as the Sand Snake Pokemon.

Silicobra's spread isn't flashy. Defense leads, Sp. Atk trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Easy to catch and worth 1 Defense EV, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

Silicobra’s neck pouch, which can inflate and deflate like a balloon, gets more elastic each time Silicobra sheds its skin.

Scarlet

Silicobra’s large nostrils are specialized for spraying sand, so this Pokémon is not very good at telling apart different smells.

Violet

Silicobra Weakness

Avg

Silicobra's Ground typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Grass, and Ice moves. It shrugs off Electric-type attacks completely. Silicobra's physical bulk (base 75 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Earthquake is the main STAB option after a Coil boost. Eviolite gives Silicobra a bulk boost that only works before full evolution to survive the setup turn, and a spread EV build EVs make the boosted hits count. The remaining moves catches resists.

Without TMs, Silicobra's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get Normal and Dark coverage and more on top of Earthquake and Earth Power for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

  • Silicobra isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Sandaconda to unlock its full potential. At 315 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • Watch for Milotic (Water), Kartana (Grass), and Lapras (Ice) when using Silicobra. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • Silicobra evolves into Sandaconda at level 36. Silicobra is the base form of this evolutionary line.

  • Sand Spit creates a sandstorm when hit by an attack — that's the one you want on Silicobra. Sand Veil is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Shed Skin works too if your team needs something different.

  • Silicobra fills the support role. It's a physical attacker with base 57 Attack. Base 46 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

  • Silicobra can be found in Scarlet & Violet and Sword & Shield.

Introduced in Sword & Shield, Silicobra has appeared in 2 games across 2 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
