While most trainers evolve Silicobra into Sandaconda immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. Electric moves can't touch it, and only 3 types hit it super-effectively. Known as the Sand Snake Pokemon.

Silicobra's spread isn't flashy. Defense leads, Sp. Atk trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Easy to catch and worth 1 Defense EV, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

As it digs, it swallows sand and stores it in its neck pouch. The pouch can hold more than 17 pounds of sand.

Sword

It spews sand from its nostrils. While the enemy is blinded, it burrows into the ground to hide.

Shield

Silicobra Weakness

Avg

Silicobra's Ground typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Grass, and Ice moves. It shrugs off Electric-type attacks completely. Silicobra's physical bulk (base 75 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

You'll want to breed for Belch and Dragon Rush on Silicobra. These egg moves aren't just nice to have. Combined with STAB from Earthquake and Earth Power, they expand what Silicobra can actually threaten in practice.

  • Silicobra isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Sandaconda to unlock its full potential. At 315 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • Watch for Milotic (Water), Kartana (Grass), and Lapras (Ice) when using Silicobra. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • Silicobra evolves into Sandaconda at level 36. Silicobra is the base form of this evolutionary line.

  • Sand Spit creates a sandstorm when hit by an attack — that's the one you want on Silicobra. Sand Veil is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Shed Skin works too if your team needs something different.

  • Silicobra fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 57 Attack. Base 46 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

  • Silicobra can be found in Scarlet & Violet and Sword & Shield.

Introduced in Sword & Shield, Silicobra has appeared in 2 games across 2 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
