Stats & Training
Attack and Sp. Atk carry most of Remoraid's stat budget. HP's the obvious dump stat. Common in the wild and yields 1 Sp. Atk stat exp. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
To escape from an attacker, it may shoot water out of its mouth, then use that force to swim backward.
Remoraid Weakness
Remoraid's Water typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric and Grass. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Just 2 weak spots to worry about, which keeps teambuilding straightforward.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Grass |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Ice, Steel |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def
In Crystal, Venusaur can KO Remoraid with Giga Drain (172-202%). Electabuzz threatens a KO with Thunder (240-283%).

How to Get Remoraid in Crystal
Remoraid can't be caught in Crystal. Bring it over from Gold, Emerald, or Black instead. The encounter info below covers the source games.
Remoraid Guide
Get Remoraid to Octillery at level 25. At 300 BST, Remoraid is just the starting point.
Level 25 gets you Octillery. Not the fastest evolution, so consider Exp. Share or route grinding to speed it up.
For Crystal, you can run Remoraid through the first few routes without issues. 300 BST won't carry you far though. Get it to Octillery as fast as you can.
You can find Remoraid in Crystal. The Locations section has the full breakdown of routes and encounter details. It also appears in 16 other games across the series.
