127 base Sp. Atk is no joke, but Naganadel can't afford to take a hit back. It comfortably outruns most offensive threats, so at least it usually attacks first. Known as the Poison Pin Pokemon. One of the newer additions from Gen 7.

Naganadel's built around special offense. Sp. Atk leads the charge, HP pays for it. Tough to catch, worth 3 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.

One kind of Ultra Beast, it fires a glowing, venomous liquid from its needles. This liquid is also immensely adhesive.

Naganadel Weakness

Avg

Naganadel is weak to Ice, Ground, Psychic, and Dragon-type moves. 7 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Naganadel leans toward special offense (base 127 Sp.Atk) instead of trying to wall anything.

Focus Sash guarantees Naganadel survives one hit from full HP. That's enough to deal early damage and fire off Sludge Bomb before going down. Beastboost and max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs maximize first-turn impact.

Naganadel isn't available in the wild in Sword & Shield. Start by transferring Poipole from Ultra Sun. The evolution path from Poipole to Naganadel is covered in the steps below.

How to Obtain Naganadel in Sword & Shield

  1. Poipole
    Step 1Obtain Poipole

  2. Naganadel
    Step 2Naganadel
  • Naganadel has a 540 base stat total and ranks as B-Tier — a solid choice for the right team. It works best as a sweeper. Base 127 Sp. Atk is where it shines.

  • Naganadel's biggest threats include Kyurem (Ice), Rhydon (Ground), and Starmie (Psychic), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Dragon-type attackers are also a problem. Naganadel's base 121 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.

  • Poipole evolves into Naganadel after learning Dragon Pulse. Naganadel is the fully evolved form. At 540 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Beast Boost is the go-to ability for Naganadel. It raises this Pokémon's highest stat by one stage when it faints another Pokémon. It's Naganadel's only ability.

  • Naganadel fills the sweeper role. It's a special attacker with base 127 Sp. Atk. Base 121 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Naganadel can be found in Sword & Shield and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Introduced in Sun & Moon, Naganadel has appeared in 2 games across 3 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
