Almost nobody uses Meditite in battle. It exists to evolve into Medicham, which is a completely different story. Get it there and you won't regret it. Only weak to Flying, Ghost, and Fairy. Known as the Meditate Pokemon.

Speed and Defense carry most of Meditite's stat budget. HP's the obvious dump stat. Common in the wild and yields 1 Speed EV. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

STAB runs through High Jump Kick and Focus Blast for the basics, but Meditite's real strength is the 11-type coverage spread. Normal and Dark hit common defensive types, and the movepool keeps going.

No wild encounters for Meditite in Sun & Moon. It's available in Ruby, Diamond, or HeartGold and can be transferred over. The details below show where to find it.

Meditite is not available as a wild encounter in this game.

Also found in:

  • Meditite is meant to evolve into Medicham. At 280 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.

  • Watch for Aerodactyl (Flying), Gengar (Ghost), and Gardevoir (Fairy) when using Meditite. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • Meditite evolves into Medicham at level 37. Meditite is the base form of this evolutionary line.

  • Pure Power is what you want on Meditite. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Telepathy) work on paper but Pure Power is what makes Meditite worth using.

  • At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Meditite is leaning toward the physical side (base 40 Attack). Defensively? Fragile — can't afford to take many hits.

  • Meditite appears in 15 games, including Ruby & Sapphire, FireRed & LeafGreen, and Emerald.

Available in 15 titles since its debut in Ruby & Sapphire, Meditite spans 7 generations of Pokemon games. It's accessible through catching or hatching as a base form in most mainline games.
