Speed has grown the most so far (+40), but there's still another 190 stats to gain in the final evolution. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.

It loves shiny things. When it finds a Sableye trying to catch a Carbink, Gabite becomes furiously angry and attacks the Sableye.
It sheds its skin and gradually grows larger. Its scales can be ground into a powder and used as raw materials for traditional medicine.
Gabite Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Guide
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Gabite isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Garchomp to unlock its full potential. At 410 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Sand Veil is the go-to ability for Gabite. It increases evasion to 1.25× during a sandstorm. Its hidden ability Rough Skin can work in specific setups.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Gabite fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 50 Sp. Atk. Base 82 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Gabite does the job early-game if you need a Dragon/Ground type on your team. Evolve it into Garchomp before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
Game Availability
