Gabite Weakness
Gabite is weak to Ice and Dragon. Watch out for Ice attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Electric-type moves entirely. Gabite leans offensive (base 90 Atk) rather than trying to tank its weaknesses.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Ice |
| 2x (Weak) | Dragon |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Poison, Rock |
| 0x (Immune) | Electric |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Gabite Evolutions
Gabite is the middle stage between Gible and Garchomp. It's a three-stage line with one more evolution to go. For breeding, takes forever to hatch with a decent partner pool via two egg groups. Speed has grown the most so far (+40), but there's still another 190 stats to gain in the final evolution. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.

Moves List
Egg moves make a real difference. Gabite gets Body Slam and Double-Edge exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Coverage across 8 types rounds out the picture alongside Draco Meteor and Outrage.

Gabite Black 2 & White 2 Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Gabite isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Garchomp to unlock its full potential. At 410 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Sand Veil is the go-to ability for Gabite. It increases evasion to 1.25× during a sandstorm. Its hidden ability Rough Skin can work in specific setups.
In Black 2 & White 2, Gabite fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 90 Attack. Base 82 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many.
In Black 2 & White 2, Gabite does the job early-game if you need a Dragon/Ground type on your team. Evolve it into Garchomp before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
Game Availability
Gabite first appeared in Diamond & Pearl and has been available in 14 games across 7 generations. Obtainable through catching or hatching as a base form in most titles where it appears.
