Fletchinder sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Fletchling but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Talonflame as fast as possible. Ground moves can't touch it, and only 3 types hit it super-effectively. Known as the Ember Pokemon.

Nothing fancy in Fletchinder's spread. It leans mixed with Speed out front. And you'll get 2 Speed EVs per KO for it. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

From its beak, it expels embers that set the tall grass on fire. Then it pounces on the bewildered prey that pop out of the grass.

Omega Ruby

The hotter the flame sac on its belly, the faster it can fly, but it takes some time to get the fire going.

Alpha Sapphire

Fletchinder Weakness

Excellent

Type-wise, Fletchinder takes extra damage from Rock, Water, and Electric. Watch out for Rock attacks, those deal 4x damage. Ground moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely.

Fletchinder sits between Fletchling and Talonflame in this three-stage line. Not the final form yet. For breeding, quick to hatch with no compatible partners via one egg group. Attack has grown the most so far (+23), but there's still another 117 stats to gain in the final evolution.

Breeding's the move. Quick Guard and Snatch give Fletchinder options it can't learn any other way, and Normal and Steel coverage and more already covers a decent range on top of Overheat and Fire Blast. The egg moves push it further.

Fletchinder isn't available in the wild in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Start by transferring Fletchling from X, Sun, or Scarlet. The evolution path from Fletchling to Fletchinder is covered in the steps below.

How to Obtain Fletchinder in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

  1. Fletchling
    Step 1Obtain Fletchling

    Catch in the wild in:

Then trade to Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire to continue the evolution chain.

  2. Fletchinder
    Step 2Fletchinder
  • At 382 BST, Fletchinder is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Talonflame before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Fletchinder's biggest threats include Tyranitar (Rock), Swampert (Water), and Rotom (Electric), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Tyranitar is the most dangerous since Rock moves deal 4x damage.

  • Fletchling evolves into Fletchinder at level 17. Fletchinder evolves into Talonflame at level 35. Fletchinder is a middle-stage evolution in the Fletchling line.

  • Flame Body is the go-to ability for Fletchinder. It has a 30% chance of burning attacking Pokémon on contact. Its hidden ability Gale Wings can work in specific setups.

  • Fletchinder is leaning toward the physical side (base 73 Attack). Fragile — can't afford to take many hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 84 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. Fits the support role.

  • Fletchinder appears in 7 games, including X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Since X & Y, Fletchinder has been obtainable in 7 games. A Generation 6 debut means a shorter history, but Fletchinder has appeared steadily across every generation since.
